Pasture Raised MeatAll natural meats that are sold at Dispenza's is meat that comes from animals that were raised without the use of antibiotics, steroids, growth hormones or anything “unnatural”. We take it a step further and ensure that our natural meats come from animals that were not confined and had free choice to pasture. The beef is a combination of grass fed and natural grain finished.

 

Our natural meats also have a definition after slaughter:

 

"Meat that is minimally processed and has no ingredients added after slaughter."

Dry-Aged Beef

At Dispenza's, we dry-age our beef for a minimum of 21 days to allow enzymes naturally present in the meat to break down the muscle tissue, resulting in improved texture and flavor.

 

All beef found in supermarkets is aged in plastic shrink-wrap-a process known as wet-aging. Dry-aged beef, on the other hand,is exposed to air so dehydration can further concentrate the meat's flavor. It's a more expensive process than wet-aging, however, because the meat loses weight from dehydration, and it also must be trimmed of its completely dried exterior. A dry-aged steak or roast will be more succulent and have a mellower yet beefier flavor than a wet-aged steak or roast.

Our 'Natural Meats' were raised naturally, without artificial hormones, steroids or antibiotics because we want to offer our customers a safe and healthy choice at fair prices.

The trust that consumers have in the food industry has diminished over the last few years. With our global economy the meat that is sold in grocery stores may be imported - imported from countries with lower government standards for animal health and sanitation. People today want to know where their meat is from; they want to know how it was raised; they want to know that they can trust the people who are selling it to them Locally Grown is our specialty. We purchase from local growers. It is Naturally Raised (by USDA definition) with no added growth hormones and no routine antibiotics. When you buy from us you know right where our meat is coming from and you can rest assured that it is safe and delicious!
